Lisa Hemmat
Lido di Manhattan’s New Proprietor
Lisa Hemmat grew up in Mt. Vernon, Washington in a family that owned Restaurants, Nightclubs, and Commercial Real estate. She always had a passion for Entrepreneurship, and at 15 years old she started her own weekly underage nightclub, gathering all of the local high school to attend a nearby venue. The underage night turned out to be a huge success for many years, and encouraged Lisa to explore additional business opportunities. In high school Lisa was involved with a Sales and Marketing group called DECA where she competed in Entrepreneurship and received 3rd place in the National Competition held in Florida. From this point on she knew she was going to be an Entrepreneur, and so when applying for colleges she found the perfect match in USC and its world renowned Entrepreneurship program. Through her years of study she had an event planning company called Summertyme Entertainment with a partner and scheduled and planned after party events for world famous musicians. During her summers off from USC she would return to Washington where she started her own small dessert company called "Lisa's Desserts" where she sold homemade pies and desserts all over western Washington. From this experience Lisa realized she wanted to be involved in the Restaurant and food business, and she continued to run the dessert company until she graduated from USC's Business Entrepreneurship program with top honors. After Graduation Lisa traveled extensively through Europe to enhance her knowledge with fine foods and wine before looking for the perfect restaurant of her own. After returning to the United States, she found Lido Di Manhattan and fell in love with it.
After taking over Lido’s Lisa has passionately committed herself to bring the sleepy restaurant back to life. With a genuine belief in Lido’s enormous potential, she is revamping the atmosphere and livening up the restaurant with special events, happy hours, live music and wine tastings, all fueled by an energetic kitchen staff and a fresh, innovative new outlook. Although the restaurant does have an established base of “regulars” and loyal customers, Lisa hopes to get South Bay residents more involved in this restaurant that has been one of Manhattan Beach’s best-kept secrets for years. Lisa looks forward to meeting every single guest who joins us at the Lido and would love to help anyone who is planning a special event or desires help with any catering needs.
